This weekend started December, and Patrick and I decided to get into the winter spirit by going for a drive to find the snow. I guess this is a common date activity – Patrick’s office mates told him he had to take his wife to Mt. Halla this weekend. So we did!
In about 90 minutes, we can drive halfway up the mountain at the center of the island, Mt. Halla, which is covered with snow right now.
We stopped a couple times along the road to get out and take pictures. We saw several other cars doing the same. :). There were even a few places where families were building snowmen and trying to sled down barely sloping hills.
We got out at one point to try a little hike, but the trails were pretty muddy and slushy. So we mostly enjoyed from the car.
Most of the snow fell on Thanksgiving day. We had to work all day, but the school did make us a true turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie!
I think we ate about the only turkeys in Korea. They flew the turkey’s down from the military base in Seoul with armed guards. We were high priority. 🙂
So the holidays are in gear here. Decorations are up, a few parties are planned, and I’m even playing in some holiday cheer by accompanying the elementary school Christmas concert. Should be adorable fun.
Will try to post a bit more before Christmas break. We miss you all especially in this family-focused time. Happy holidays to you all!
So glad you were able to have the traditional Thanksgiving dinner! Miss you guys and can’t wait to see all of the fun stuff you’ll be doing for the holidays.
