PowerSchool

…PowerSchool is a beast!

It takes some time to learn and understand what you are doing within PowerSchool and how the system is designed. My first suggestion, attend a PowerSchool University! They are pricy (about $2,200 USD) but they are very worth it. One of the biggest draws for me is the use of large numbers of Test-Servers for the training. When I attended, I never felt the pressure of “don’t break it” because we had the freedom to experiment on the Test-Servers. Now, even though I highly recommend attending PSU, there will be things that you miss and you will need additional help with.

This page contains all of the tutorials and documentation that I have created about using PowerSchool as a System Admin. I organized the page based upon type of resource (videos, documents, presentations, etc.). Feel free to leave a comment if there are other videos that you would like to see. If you have any questions, please just reach out with me on the Connect page and I would be happy to help.

If you would like me to spend some time on your servers, I am happy to help you implement a wide range of solutions.

Video Trainings

One of the easiest ways to communicate information with staff is through Video Trainings. We have found that in just a couple of minutes, you can create an on-demand video to teach users how to do specific tasks. Take a look at the training videos that I have developed in the Playlist below.

Documentation

PowerSchool is extensively Documented by Pearson. What is not document however is how to use it. Over the past few years, I have been collecting sources of information and links into one Evernote Notebook. You can see that notebook below.
