Is Privacy Important?

Over the past two months, I have been asking myself and my social networks the same question. The answers I have sought to uncover were masked by partisan politics and moral indecision. Following the advice of Richard Ledgett (of the NSA) I continued to learn and dig into the facts about Internet and Cyber Privacy. What I found, and what I learned, opened my eyes to a world that I had never seen before – the world of digital warfare. We All Need a Mentor At my first teaching job, I worked with “At-Risk” High School Students in Colorado. It was an eye-opener in a number of...

Shifting Privacy

Privacy is important to me. I had forgotten that. As a technologist, and an amateur hacker, I spent five years of my life learning the means to hack by joining gangs and buying books. Back then, I was an idealist, and definitely toed the grey line of technology. Holiday App Guide (for iOS)

Well, it is that time of year when we all dip into our pockets a bit and give the gift of gaming and productivity to those around us (especially if you want folks to shell out the $9.99 to play Carcassone). The Mad Dog and the Quest for the Onesy (GTA SEA)

Welcome to the Google Teacher Academy Well, it is official, I am here in Manila at the Google Teacher Academy. 53 applicants from around the world are meeting at the Asian Institute of Management. I got in the night before at rush hour and in the middle of a torrential downpour – there was knee-high water in the streets. The airport was great, but getting to the hotel – normally a 15-20 minute drive – took almost 2 hours. Since we are a bit isolated on Jeju, I tried to just take in the city on the way. When the driver said we were getting close, I spotted a nice Thai place...

Evernote goes to the Galapagos (and the Amazon)!

One of the biggest reasons that I use Evernote is the ability to quickly organize and document my ever changing life. This summer, my side and I spent two weeks traveling through Ecuador. This included a trip to the Galapagos and the amazon. Before we left, I prepared all of our travel documents in an Evernote notebook. This included all of our flight information and booking confirmations. With an Evernote premium account, I could easily download the entire notebook to my ipad for offline viewing. When I travel, I tend to download all of the documents on both my ipad and my iPhone just incase...
