It has taken a long time, but I have been converted to using Evernote for all of my online note-taking. I was first introduced to the program in 2012 at the ISTE Conference. I hated it. At that point in my life, I was an avid doodler, spending the majority of my page area on drawings. When I downloaded and started using the Evernote platform on my PC, it was lacking in the ability to integrate services and features that I wanted. Since my account was created in 2012, there have been some significant changes to the platform and my use of it. The biggest change in my use of note-taking services is my reliance on my iPad.

I use Evernote to keep track of everything I do in the digital world. At this point, I have almost 100 notebooks that house everything from recipes to financial documents. At work, I use Evernote to plan my curriculum, take meeting minutes, and even maintain our technology blog (through Postach.io). Using the Chrome Extensions, I save all of my travel documents (tripadvisor pages, reviews, etc.) and then I use the Offline Notebook feature to make sure I have all of my notes when I travel. Evernote is a fantastic way to keep track of my entire life, and keep everything updated and synchronized.

If you are a mobile professional, Evernote is a great way to keep your files organized across a wide range of devices and locations.

Summary

Evernote is constantly updating their services to provide more and more functionality. The most recent updates to the App have improved the interface significantly. That being said, I am a firm believer in the the idea that Evernote becomes more valuable when you use it. The Chrome extension adds a bunch of functionality when it allows for the searching of your Evernote database side-by-side with Google. As time goes on, the Productivity Value of Evernote will continue to grow, and its application to Education is very high (see my numerous other resources on the topic).

Overall, Evernote is a program that is going places. I have some issues with the App, but overall it is a great resource for Education and Productivity.
